Initially the very few members worshiped their Lord with an inter denominational gathering known as The Kuwait Town Malayalee Congregation (KTMCC) in the National Evangelical Church, Kuwait (NECK). By 1965 many Pentecostal believers arrived to Kuwait. They met together and conducted prayer meetings occasionally. On such occasions the believers used to seriously discuss possibility of starting a Pentecostal worship service.
On his way back from Europe Pastor A.C. Thomas of the then Ceylon Pentecostal Mission (CPM) visited Kuwait at the invitation of his relatives lived in Kuwait. He conducted prayer meetings in the residences and a brother by name Samuel from Tamil Nadu took water baptism at the hand of Pastor Thomas in the Arabian Sea. This was the first visit of a Pentecostal Pastor and the first known baptism in Kuwait.
Mrs. A.C. Mathews from Kumbanad (mother of Bro. M. Mathews), during her visit to Kuwait in December 1965, encouraged the believers to start a regular worship meeting and thus a weekly meeting was started in January 1966 at the residence of Bro. George Mathews (Punalur). As the believers increased, the meeting was shifted to the NECK premises in 1967. Bro. George Mathews led the meetings. The day chosen for the worship meeting was Saturday evening. Since then this group was named and known as Pentecostal Church of Kuwait (PCK).
On their way back from USA, Pastor K.E. Abraham, the then President of The Indian Pentecostal Church of God (IPC) and Pastor George Varghese visited Kuwait in late 1968 and conducted special meetings in the NECK premises and prayer meetings at the residences. This was a great boost for the believers and Pentecostals were recognized as a force in the Christian community of Kuwait.
