The Pentecostal Young People’s Association (PYPA) was formed on August 30th,1947, two weeks after India became independent. Thus in independent India, a Pentecostal youth movements was born to uphold the mantle of the gospel.

The aim of the organization was to work among the student community and to include the youths of all Pentecostal organizations in this youth movement. The slogan of the PYPA is “Saved to Serve”. In the beginning, the PYPA was confined in Kerala only. But later it began to spread all over India.

PCK - PYPA
On Friday 23rd March 1979, a unit of the PYPA was formed in Pentecostal Church of Kuwait (PCK) in a meeting conducted at the activity hall of N.E.C.K (National Evangelical Church, Kuwait) under the chairmanship of late Pastor. E.J. Oommen, the resident pastor of PCK. The official inauguration of the PYPA was done by Pastor. Mathew Samuel (on visit) on Monday, 26th March 1979 on its first meeting conducted at the residence of Bro. K. Thomas Mathew.

The present membership of the PYPA is over 400. It is an inspiration to many young people. There is no age bar. All born again believers are members of the PYPA unit in the Pentecostal Church of Kuwait (PCK).

Current Activities of PYPA

Prayer Meetings
The main agenda of PYPA council 2003-2004 is Prayer Meetings. PYPA has provided a Prayer Box to collect prayer request from the church believers and preparing a prayer list from it and is conducting the following prayer meetings every month.

Chain Prayer
On the first Thursday of every month from 7pm to 7am.

Late Night Prayer
On second Thursday of every month from 10pm to 12midnight.

Council Member’s Prayer
Once in every month in any of the council member’s house. Apart from these prayer meetings each council member is dedicated to pray at least one hour per week by upholding all the subjects of PYPA prayer list.

Support to Mission Fields
During the year 2003 - 2004 PYPA is supporting 8 Gospel fields in India, thus becoming a part of the gospel work in Kerala and in other parts of India.

Charitable Works
This year God has given us the opportunity to construct 3 houses for homeless believers in Kerala.

Camp Meetings
PYPA members are active participants of all the camp meetings conducted in different parts of Kuwait as part of the Gospel work of PCK.

Regular Meetings
PYPA is conducting one regular meeting every month to encourage and utilize the God given talents of PYPA members. More than 150 members are gathering in each meetings.

Talent Test Competition

PYPA is conducting Talent Test Competition every year. There are both stage competitions and written competitions. Members of different categories viz. juniors, seniors and adults are actively participating in it. First and second prizes will be given to the winners during the annual meeting.
